A peaceful setting,
so much to discover

Nestled among orchards, vineyards and woodland, the village of Völlan enjoys a sunny hillside location above Lana, at 700 metres above sea level. Known for its pleasantly mild climate, it's the perfect place to enjoy a slower pace of life. And whenever you feel like venturing out, Lana and the spa town of Meran are just a short distance away.

Scenic walks and mountain adventures

Step outside Wiesenhof and discover a world of apple orchards, shady woodland and sweeping views across the Etschtal Valley. Whether you fancy a leisurely stroll around Völlan, a walk along Lana's historic Waalwege irrigation channel trails or a more challenging hike to the summit of Mount Laugen, there's a trail for every mood and every level of fitness.

Discover South Tyrol on two wheels

Whether you prefer an e-bike, mountain bike or road bike, there's plenty to explore in and around Völlan. Enjoy a leisurely ride along the Etsch River, discover quiet country lanes and scenic trails, or challenge yourself with a climb up to the Gampen Pass.

And if you'd rather skip the uphill stretch, the bike shuttle (info) between Lana and the Gampen Pass stops in Völlan too. Best of all, it's free with the South Tyrol Guest Pass.

There's always
something to celebrate

South Tyrol loves a good celebration, whatever the season. Spring kicks off with Lana in Bloom, a colourful programme of events to welcome the warmer days. Summer is all about lively village festivals and music-filled evenings.

Come autumn, Völlan celebrates its much-loved chestnuts at the traditional Keschtnfestl chestnut festival. And when winter approaches, the charming Advent markets in Lana and the surrounding villages bring a little festive magic to the season.

A taste of city life:
Meran and Bozen

A little city exploring is all part of a South Tyrol holiday. Just a bus ride away, Meran invites you to wander beneath its historic arcades, browse the shops, stop for a coffee or stroll along its elegant promenades. All with a touch of Mediterranean flair.

Bozen offers a different kind of charm, with its lively squares, historic arcades and bustling cafés. It's also home to the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology, where you can come face to face with Ötzi the Iceman, one of the world's most fascinating archaeological discoveries.

And with the South Tyrol Guest Pass, getting to both cities by public transport couldn't be easier.

Winter days in Völlan

Fresh mountain air, peaceful paths and plenty of reasons to wrap up warm and head outside. Even without snow, the countryside around Völlan has a charm all of its own in winter. And there's something rather lovely about coming back to your cosy apartment or chalet after a day in the crisp winter air.

If you're after a little snow, head up to Vigiljoch. The cable car from Lana takes you to a beautiful mountain landscape with winter walking trails and cosy mountain inns. For a day on the slopes, the Meran 2000 ski area is just over half an hour away, while Schwemmalm in the Ultental Valley is around 40 minutes away by car.
